Padel has taken off in popularity over the last few years. Join the craze by designing the perfect court for your space.
The standard padel court is approximately 30 feet wide by 70 feet long. It is enclosed by walls, typically made of glass or a combination of glass and metal mesh. The back walls are 9.8 feet high, and sidewalls can be either 9.8 feet or have a tapering section down to 6.6 feet.
Padel courts use synthetic turf as the playing surface, which offers optimal traction and durability. The turf is designed to allow for quick movement, while also being soft on the joints, reducing the risk of injury.
The court is divided in half by a net that stands 2.9 feet high at the center and 3.0 feet high at the ends. This net is similar to a tennis net but slightly lower to accommodate padel's gameplay style.
Courts often have overhead lighting to ensure clear visibility for nighttime play. These lights are strategically placed to illuminate the entire playing area without obstructing the players' views.
The court has white boundary lines, including service lines and baseline markers, much like tennis. These lines are typically painted onto the turf for clear visibility.
Glass Walls: The back and part of the sidewalls are made of tempered glass to allow for the ball to bounce off them during gameplay, which adds a unique dynamic to padel. This glass is typically 10-12 mm thick for safety and resilience.
